This syrah is a brooding expression from 2025. Here we have black plum, pepper, cardamom spice, deli meats, with a whiff of dark chocolate.
The palate is super vibrant with flavours of Doris plum, red currant and spiced red cherries. The wine has a very sleek feel, the tannin is a highlight, lifting and shaping the flavours, extending them long through the finish.
Vinification & Elevage: The fruit was partially destemmed as whole berries, with 30% left as whole bunches for fermentation. It was then pressed into French oak foudre for maturation and malolactic conversion, spending 10 months in oak before bottling.
90 Points – The Wine Front
“Plum, blackberry, blackcurrant, plenty of pepper and spice, a bit meaty, black olives rolled in dried herbs. It’s medium-bodied, lively almost fresh tomato acidity, a bit of meaty truffle-like stuff, a grainy graphite grip to tannin, almost there for me in terms of cool-climate Shiraz, though the sour tomato tang rides a bit to high in the wine for my tastes, especially on the finish.”
