Tasting Notes:
Aromatics of crushed rock, roasted fennel, game meats, damson plum and a little ginger note. The palate is all plum fruits, olive tapenade with a crack of black pepper, small goods and suede tannins finishing with vibrancy.
Winemaking Notes:
Picked on the 18th of March
Vinification & Elevage: Partially destemmed as whole berries (with 12% as whole bunches) for fermen tation. Pressed to French oak for maturation and malolactic conversion. Aged in barrel for 9 months prior to bottling.
Viticultural Notes:
The grapes for this wine were handpicked with viticultural practices based around maintaining balance in the vineyards, sustainability and responsiveness to changing environmental conditions.
2022 will be remembered for the tiniest yields in a decade resulting from poor flowering conditions in our parts of the Yarra Valley. The quality of the resultant wines of this vintage, however, are outstanding with both concentration and finesse.
