This wine really highlights the ultimate combination of terroir and season. 2023 had low yields for the second year in a row; it was also a cool vintage allowing longer ripening to build maximum flavours and tannins. As a result we have a very unique & individualistic Yarra Pinot! Dried rose, clove, nutmeg, rosemary, jamon, red cherry and boysenberries (typical of this patch).The palate has lots of presence; damson plum, star anise, raspberries, musk, walnut and forest berries over a driving, ripe thread of quality fruit tannin. It leaves a real impression this wine… a premier feel.

Picked on the 10th of March.
Vinification & Elevage: Fruit was partially destemmed and fermented as whole berries, with 50% as whole bunches. On skins for 18 days then pressed to oak (20% new) for malolactic fermentation on lees. In oak for 10 months before racking prior to bottling. 125 dozen produced.

The fruit for this Pinot Noir comes from old vine MV6 from Block 4, Hill Road Vineyard Coldstream.
2023 was a vintage where a wet spring provided challenges, yet through hard work and perseverance we enjoyed a mild and kind harvest period that has produced wines of vibrancy and finesse.

A bright ruby red. Old vines and low crops have produced an outstanding and darkly fruited wine where you barely notice the wholes bunches. It's concentrated and has grunt but, equally, it's not remotely heavy either. The tannins are ripe, powerful and balanced and this is definitely one to put away and enjoy over the next 10–15 years plus.
