Sifted notes of blackcurrant, bramble, cedar and spiced plum fruits. The palate has great presence with rich red berry fruits, some mocha with black olive and a hint of licorice over a base of earthy tannins.
The fruit was destemmed as whole berries and fermented on skins for 14 days in open-top vats. It was then pressed into French oak for malolactic fermentation and spent 10 months maturing in oak before bottling.
Inspired by the traditional blends of Bordeaux’s ‘Right Bank,’ where Merlot is the predominant variety, we celebrate our interpretation of this style in the Yarra Valley. This wine is a blend of 83% Merlot and 17% Cabernet Sauvignon.
