Tasting Notes:
Sifted notes of blackcurrant, bramble, cedar and spiced plum fruits. The palate has great presence with rich red berry fruits, some mocha with black olive and a hint of licorice over a base of earthy tannins.
Winemaking Notes:
The fruit was destemmed as whole berries and fermented on skins for 14 days in open-top vats. It was then pressed into French oak for malolactic fermentation and spent 10 months maturing in oak before bottling.
Viticultural Notes:
Inspired by the traditional blends of Bordeaux's 'Right Bank,' where Merlot is the predominant variety, we celebrate our interpretation of this style in the Yarra Valley. This wine is a blend of 83% Merlot and 17% Cabernet Sauvignon.
