This Premier shows classic hallmarks of Upper Yarra chardonnay, flint and river pebble, pastries, lime marmalade. There is quite a powerful undercurrent of ripe grapefruit and white peach. The palate is multilayered with nectarine, Tahitian lime and lemon sorbet. There is a glossy aspect to the texture which fills the palate and delivers both the flavour and refreshment nicely.

“… Great chardonnay. Powerful, stern, joyous, long, characterful and no doubt more. The front palate cocks the trigger; the back palate slams it home. Honeysuckle, riverstones, white peach, nougat and whispers of flint. Chalk through the finish. Stones, licked. Ample fruit. A healthy wash of acidity. All day long. Make my day.”

2022 will be remembered for the tiniest yields in a decade resulting from poor flowering conditions in our parts of the Yarra Valley. The quality of the resultant wines of this vintage however are outstanding with both concentration and finesse.
