Pristine, waxy aromas of grapefruit, white peach, white & yellow flowers & tight-knit vanilla oak overlie notes of ginger & coriander. A long & deep palate with a fine, chalky spine cloaked in creamy, nougat-like complexity wrapped in an energetic acidity.

Winemaking Notes: Hand-picked 27th February.
Crushed and pressed with full solids straight to oak (20% new), both primary fermentation and malolactic fermentation were natural. 10 months in oak, racked off lees and filtered just prior to bottling. Unfined.
Viticultural Notes: Swallowfield is located in Gembrook, making it the southernmost vineyard in the Yarra Valley. While Gembrook is known for its volcanic derived red soils, Swallowfield sits on a granite outcrop. These quartz rich soils are perfect for growing Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
The second release of our ‘premier’ single vineyard Chardonnay. Swallowfield block One, I-clone traditionally produces the fruit that best represents this site.
After several warm growing seasons, 2017 was a return to a classic Yarra Valley harvest producing balanced, elegant wines with wonderful natural acidity.
