This wine is inspired by the traditional blend of Bordeaux’s ‘Right Bank’ where the predominate variety is Merlot, we celebrate our interpretation of this blend here in the Yarra Valley.
Tasting Notes:
Aromas of black cherry, tea leaf, red licorice, cacao and tobacco. The palate is plush with red plums, chocolate. There is also a nice savoury side with olive, earthy bass notes and a gentle stoney tannin profile.
Winemaking Notes:
Harvested from 24th March to 11th April
Vinification & Elevage: Fruit was destemmed as whole berries and fermented on skins for 14 days. Pressed to French oak barriques and puncheons for malolactic conversion, spending 11 months in oak prior to bottling.
Viticultural Notes:
2022 will be remembered for the tiniest yields in a decade resulting from poor flowering conditions in our parts of the Yarra Valley. The quality of the resultant wines of this vintage however are outstanding with both concentration and finesse.
