Tasting Notes: Medium Ruby red with a Garnet meniscus. Intense maceration carbonic aromas burst on the nose with pomegranate , red current, fruit punch and a hint of musk. This potpourri of characters plays out on a lively palate supported by a crisp, ruby grapefruit acidity and ending with a fine red apple skin tannin finish.
Winemaking Notes: Harvest: Hand-picked in February and March Vinification: De-stemmed to open fermenter (50% whole bunch), short cold soak, natural prima ry and malotic fermentation, pressed to aged French oak. Elevage: Aged in oak for 10 months, racked off lees just prior to bottling
Viticultural Notes: Pinot Noir grapes from the cool climate Yarra Valley and the Gamay grapes from the Mediterranean climate of the King Valley are at the heart of this wine. The 2018 harvest will be remembered fondly by the winemakers as it was a rate season that gave above average yields and excellent auality fruit.
