93 Points - Mike Bennie, WBM 2024
“Vibrant raspberry, cranberry and pomegranate notes with hints of warm spice and delicate violet undertones define this pitch-perfect medium weight wine. The unexpected minerality to the tannin profile delivers an x-factor, the open weave of the wine inviting in its way. There’s a sense of generosity and a kind of simplicity, but it works in the wine’s favour for easy appeal.”

Tasting Notes:
A super vibrant expression of Toolangi Pinot in 2023. There's rich red fruits of raspberry and red cherry, spice and florals coming from the whole bunch ferments, and an undercurrent of earthy Toolangi character. The palate flows with spiced red berry fruits, gentle sappy tannins and finishes with stony mineral notes.
Winemaking Notes:
Picked between 21st and 22nd March
Vinification: Fruit was partially destemmed and fermented as whole berries, with 10% as whole bunches. On skins for 14 days then pressed to oak (10% new) for malolactic fermentation on lees. In oak for 9 months before racking prior to bottling.
Viticultural Notes:
Low cropped fruit from 21-year-old vines of MV6 Pinot Noir clone.
2023 was a vintage where a wet spring provided challenges, yet through hard work and perseverance we enjoyed a mild and kind harvest period that has produced wines of vibrancy and finesse.
