RRP: $130.00
96 Points – Halliday Wine Companion 2023
“…A light, bright crimson. Full of boysenberries, raspberries and warm spices such as cinnamon and clove. Seamless and smooth with fine, very persistent tannins which auger well for the future, as this should evolve gracefully.”
- Philip Rich, Halliday Wine Companion

Tasting Notes:
This Pinot shows the subtleties of the 2021 vintage yet its latent power of this Pinot is intriguing! Aromas of wild strawberries, alpine herbs, forest spices with violets and roses are all on display. As is a distinctive mineral 'iron' note. The palate shows a nice spread of red berry fruits (boysenberry and red cherries) with a real old vine fruit tannin. The wine remains fresh whilst already showing nice complexity and structure, this should cellar well!
Winemaking Notes:
Hand-picked on the 25th of February
Vinification & Elevage: Fruit was partially destemmed as whole berries, with 40% as whole bunches. A short cold soak prior to fermentation and on skins for 15 days. The wine was pressed to French oak (30% new) for malolactic conversion on lees in oak for 10 months.
170 dozen produced.
Viticultural Notes:
Pinot Noir clone: Block 4 – MV6
The fruit for this wine comes from Block 4 on the Hill Road Vineyard this block always delivers our best fruit and is a true expression of our Coldstream terrior.
2021 was a welcome return to ideal growing condions here in the Yarra Valley. A prolonged, classical season allowed for brilliant definition of flavour across our range.
